Your data

What data we keep, how we use it and how to contact us about it.

1.Who runs this

The Deadlock Mod Manager team runs Commissions as a free, non-profit project. This policy covers the Commissions website and its Discord bot. The DMM desktop app, main website and community bot are covered by a separate privacy policy.

For questions about your data, or to change or remove it, email either of us:

2.What we store

We store the information needed to run Commissions. Most comes from Discord or from what you enter here.

  • Your Discord account. When you sign in with Discord we get your Discord ID, username, avatar and the email address on your Discord account. We also receive login tokens from Discord to keep you signed in.
  • Your place on our Discord server. Your display name, avatar and roles there. Roles decide what you can see and do, for example whether you can claim requests or moderate.
  • Requests. Everything you put into a request: mod type, description, reference links, budget and deadline. We also keep its status and who claimed or worked on it.
  • Conversations and files. Messages in a request conversation, whether sent here or in the Discord ticket channel. Discord stores the files you upload. We keep links to them.
  • Author profiles and verification. Portfolio link, bio, specialties, languages, social links and any payment details you choose to add to your profile, as well as your verification applications, proposed interview time and application decisions.
  • Vouches and reviews left after a commission is finished.
  • Technical data. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, the IP address and browser that session was started from, and a log of actions taken on the platform (who did what, when, and whether it worked). We also count recent actions per account to slow down spam.

3.Why we store it

We use this data only to run Commissions. That includes:

  • signing you in and showing you the requests and conversations that belong to you,
  • showing open requests to mod authors and recording who claimed them,
  • keeping the website and the Discord server in sync,
  • checking portfolios before someone gets the verified role,
  • handling scams, spam and rule violations, and reviewing what happened when someone reports a problem,
  • showing overall numbers such as how many requests were completed.

4.What we don't do

We don't sell, rent or trade your data, and we have no plans to. Commissions has no ads, analytics or tracking scripts, and we don't set third-party cookies. We use cookies needed for sign-in, including temporary cookies during login and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.

The analytics settings in the DMM desktop app do not affect how Commissions processes your data.

5.Who else can see it

  • Other people on the platform, as far as they need to. Mod authors see open requests. A conversation is visible to the requester, the author working on it, anyone they add, and the moderators.
  • Discord. The platform lives on a Discord server, so requests, messages and files also pass through Discord. Their own privacy policy applies there.
  • Our hosting and database providers process the data needed to operate Commissions.

6.How long we keep it

Sign-in sessions expire after about a week. We keep requests, conversations, profiles and action logs while the platform operates, so participants can refer to past commissions and moderators can investigate problems.

Message deletions in Discord are mirrored to the website conversation. Deleting a message does not delete related records, such as the request or action logs.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner. If we need to retain some records to investigate scams or abuse, protect the service, or meet legal obligations, we will explain what we are keeping and why.

7.Your rights

You can ask us what we have stored about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email either address above. We will verify that the request concerns your account. We can usually take care of it within a few days. Please do not post private information in a public GitHub issue or Discord channel.

If you think we are mishandling your data, you can complain to a data protection authority, such as the one in your country.

8.Changes

If we start storing something new or use data in a new way, we will update this page and the date at the top first.
