Before you commission

Deadlock Mod Manager Commissions is a free, non-profit service where you can find an author to build a custom Deadlock mod. You can post your request and discuss it here. We are not a marketplace, an agency, an employer or a payment provider.

Deadlock Mod Manager does not take fees, commissions, tips or payments of any kind, and we never hold, forward or escrow money for anyone. The requester and author agree directly on the price, payment method and when to pay.

Every commission is a private arrangement between the requester and the mod author. Deadlock Mod Manager is not a party to it. The two of you agree on the scope, deadlines, revisions, delivery, usage rights and payment. Each of you is responsible for keeping your side of the deal.

We review mod authors by hand, usually by looking at their previous work. This reduces risk but cannot remove it. Verification is not a guarantee of an author's identity, reliability, work quality or delivery. You can still encounter scams with verified authors.

The Deadlock Mod Manager team never receives your money, so we cannot refund, reverse or recover payments. We do not compensate losses of any kind and have no obligation to mediate disputes between requesters and authors.

To the extent permitted by law, Deadlock Mod Manager and its team accept no liability for commissions arranged through this platform, including missed or faulty deliveries, lost payments, fraud, or damage caused by a delivered mod. Liability that cannot be excluded by law remains unaffected.

• Write down the scope, price and deadline in the request conversation.
• For larger jobs, pay in stages rather than everything up front.
• Choose a payment method with buyer protection.
• Be cautious with anyone who pushes you to move off the platform or to pay quickly.
• Report suspicious behaviour to the moderators so they can warn others.

Authors are responsible for making sure they may use the assets in their work, and requesters for what they ask to be made. Deadlock Mod Manager is not affiliated with Valve. “Deadlock” and related marks are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
